Regular Care

Leather is a natural product and requires some care to maintain the beauty of the hide.

Under normal conditions, dusting is all that is necessary to clean your leatherwear.

The use of a proven leather/suede clothing conditioner is recommended every 6-12 months. Be sure to use products that are designated for leather clothing only as other products may stain or dissolve the protective topcoat applied at the tannery.

Staining
For minor spots and spills, wipe up any excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge.

If necessary, use a lightly moistened soft cloth with clean lukewarm water and let air-dry naturally. If you use water, clean the entire area where the spot occurred.

Do not use soap or soak the stain heavily with water. This may cause more damage than the stain itself.

If the stain persists, it is recommended that a professional leather specialist clean the leather to avoid any potential damage.

For butter, oil, or grease, wipe off excess liquid with a clean dry cloth, and then allow the spot to dissipate. It should fade into the leather after a short period of time.

Do not use saddle soap, cleaning solvents, furniture polish, oils, varnish, abrasive cleaners, detergent soaps or ammonia water.

These are recommended or suggested methods of cleaning. Always try any cleaning method in a hidden area first to convince yourself of the results.

Minor Scratches
For minor or slight scratches on the surface, use a chamois or clean fingers to gently buff the scratch. If needed, moisturize lightly with distilled water to work scratches out. This is recommended especially on "waxed leather" scratches.

For more serious scratches or tears, contact a leather care professional.
